CHICO is a compact self-propelled greenhouse sprayer designed for precise work in narrow greenhouse rows and tunnels. With a machine width of 70 cm, a tight 1.5 m turning radius, and a reliable 4×4 hydraulic drive, it delivers excellent maneuverability in places where larger machines simply cannot work efficiently. At the end of each row, the operator can turn quickly and continue into the next line with minimal effort, even in very confined greenhouse layouts. Different wheel options are also available, allowing the machine width and driving behavior to be adapted to crop type, row spacing, and greenhouse conditions.
CHICO is powered by a Japanese Kubota D722-E4B diesel engine with water cooling, a well-known industrial engine platform valued for reliability, stable operation, and long service life. Its efficient performance and fuel consumption of approximately 4–5 L/h support long working days from morning to evening, making CHICO a dependable daily machine for intensive greenhouse use.
Operation is simple and intuitive, allowing new operators to learn the machine quickly and work with confidence. CHICO can also be equipped with the optional PROSCOUT monitoring system, giving the grower better control over completed work, sprayed areas, application data, and missed zones. This adds an important management tool for farms that want more accuracy, traceability, and control over greenhouse spraying operations.
CHICO has been on the market since around 2005 and has been continuously improved over the years. Degania Sprayers keeps refining the machine, introducing practical updates based on real field and greenhouse experience. Today, CHICO has proven itself as a reliable working machine for greenhouse crop protection — compact, dependable, easy to operate, and built to deliver consistent results season after season.
CHICO is equipped with an Italian Bertolini PA330.1 VF diaphragm pump, rated at 34 L/min, providing stable chemical delivery for professional greenhouse spraying applications. Combined with the CHICO platform, this proven pump gives growers a reliable spraying system built for regular day-to-day work in demanding agricultural conditions.
The spraying system includes 26 nozzles, 2 spray arches, and an airflow speed of 40 m/s, creating strong air-assisted penetration into the crop canopy. During spraying, the airflow moves leaves and plant mass, helping the chemical reach not only the outer surface of the plant, but also deeper into dense foliage. This is especially valuable in greenhouse crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, where full penetration and even coverage are essential for effective crop protection.
CHICO is fitted with ceramic ALBUZ nozzles, known for precision, durability, and resistance to wear. At the same time, nozzle selection can be adapted to the customer’s crop, spray volume, pressure range, and working conditions, and Degania Sprayers can recommend the most suitable nozzle setup for each application. In addition to the main spray arches, CHICO can also be equipped with additional lower side nozzles located below the tank area near the fan. These help direct spray to the lower part of the plant and the crop base on both the left and right sides. Depending on customer requirements, these lower nozzles can be configured in different ways, including single or adjustable directional options.
The machine is built on a strong steel frame with anti-corrosion coating, while the spraying lines and spray-related tubes are made of stainless steel for long-term durability in agricultural environments. CHICO also features mechanical spray control, giving the operator direct and simple control over spraying sections. The operator can shut off the left side, the right side, or control individual nozzles as needed, allowing the spraying pattern to be adjusted precisely to greenhouse layout and crop conditions. With a maximum travel speed of 3.5–4 km/h, CHICO combines compact design, reliable imported components, flexible configuration, and practical greenhouse functionality in one proven self-propelled sprayer.
